The Soule Homestead Education Center plans to break ground in June for the first part of a $160,000 renovation that will include the addition of three composting bathrooms and a kitchen attached to its main barn. Director Frank Albani told selectmen that the project includes demolishing the existing addition to the barn and framing the new bathroom and kitchen section. The target completion date is September, in time for the Harvest Fair. The second part — a timeline for which has not yet been set — would include completing the interior bathroom and kitchen section at a cost of $60,000. Albani said the project will allow Soule to expand its programs. Funding of the project has been secured through donations and grants, and carpenters are volunteering their time, said Albani.
