Gas & electric commissioners are considering partnering with commissioners from Plymouth County on a wind project that could power at least 6,000 homes. The offer came from Plymouth County Treasurer Thomas J. O’Brien during the commission’s April 14 meeting. While the proposal is still in the early stages, commissioners are already preparing an agreement that would produce wind power for a municipally-owned electric company on county-owned property using federal stimulus funds, tax breaks and clean renewable energy bonds.
