PRSourceCode, a tech-focused content service provider connecting the public relations (PR), journalism, conference, and industry accolade communities, announced today the results of its 2009 “Best of the Blogs” study, which ranks the top technology blogs and most influential bloggers. Based on a survey conducted in the first quarter of 2009 of 246 technology PR professionals, the study not only names the go-to blogs and bloggers in the tech industry, but also examines how blogs are influencing the PR industry’s outreach efforts and perceptions of blogs as valid news media.

According to the 2009 “Best of the Blogs” study, 96 percent of PR professionals include blogs as part of their media relations efforts at least some of the time. Importantly, 89 percent of those surveyed sometimes or always track, count, and measure blog coverage the same as traditional publication coverage (print and online), underlining the increasing validity of blogs in relation to traditional media among tech PR professionals and their clientele – the IT community.
