North Congregational Church will once again be sending a team to New Orleans to aid in an area of the country still reeling after Hurricane Katrina. Although it has been four years since the devastating hurricane, New Orleans and its surrounding communities are still in desperate need of help.
Leaving from Providence on Jan. 2, 2010, the team will stay in New Orleans until Jan. 9.
This will be the third trip for members of the congregation under the organization of John Doherty of Bridgewater. Coordinating the team — from travel arrangements and management of the time spent in New Orleans, to assessing his team’s capabilities — the dedicated volunteer has clearly thrived during time spent in the bayou.
