It’s every child’s dream to be able to build something and then tear it apart, and for 25-year owner of Costello Dismantling Co. Inc., he’s just fine with the second half of that.

The Middleboro-based company has worked on thousands of dismantling and demolition projects from all across the eastern seaboard, many of which have been played out before the eyes of southeastern Massachusetts residents as buildings are torn down to make way for new projects.

“We’ve worked on a variety of demolition and dismantling projects for a very diversified clientele that includes business owners, developers, government and military work, oil and gas industries and more,” said Dan Costello. “An awful lot of the buildings have been deemed obsolete, fire damage and structurally deficient, but we prefer to call this dismantling over the word demolition because what we do in recovery, recycling and salvaging at the site requires great care in order to protect the surrounding environment.”

Costello Dismantling has done projects in all the states east of the Mississippi including all 10 in the northeast as well as Tennessee, the Carolinas’, Florida and others.
