The town manager has refused a $3,900 pay raise, saying he wants to do his part to help curb expenses. Selectmen voted Monday to grant Town Manager Charles J. Cristello a 3 percent, or $3,900 pay increase, that would have increased his salary from $130,000 to $133,900. Cristello, who helps oversee the town budget, asked department heads last year to cut their budgets by 5 percent because the town faced a $1.6 million deficit in fiscal year 2010 which ends on June 30.
