The town still has more questions than answers as it once again tries to open lines of communication with the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe to discuss its casino plans.
This time, selectmen, after rejecting the tribe’s request for a closed-door meeting with two board members, are inviting tribe representatives to a public session. It’s unclear what the tribe wanted to discuss with the town behind closed doors. Hiccups in the negotiations for a state compact? More complications at the federal level?
Speculation is rampant.
