An alligator has been found in a pond in Middleboro, Massachusetts.  A person found the alligator while fishing in a local body of water. The person turned the two-feet-long gator in to Massachusetts State Police.  The gator will be turned over to a reptile expert. Watch the news video from NECN and WHDH.

Not long after the story about the lost and found alligator, another animal story emerged from our sleepy little town…

Not an actual hellion, just a facsimile of one

Traffic on Interstate 495 south in Middleborough was slow moving Sunday evening after three Shetland ponies decided to take a stroll along the highway. State police said the animals escaped from a nearby farm and somehow made their way over to the highway, near exit 3.”They’re a bunch of hellions,” said Bill Morgan, the owner of Lady, Fancy and Shadow. You can read more about these hellions on TheBostonChannel.com.

So now, along with the threat of attack mosquitoes, citizens and visitors alike must contend with wild alligators and playful ponies. As @nemasket said, “Visit Middleboro… if you dare!”
