The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) today announced that 53 public water systems were awarded federally funded Drinking Water Act grants totaling $400,500 to prepare short-term capital improvement plans for medium to large public water systems. The federal funds are provided through the Massachusetts State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan program for drinking water systems, and the selected projects are located throughout the state. This is the first time that MassDEP has funded projects for the completion of drinking water system capital improvement plans.

Middleborough will receive a community grant of $7,500 to $10,000.
