The Burkland School was awarded a grant from the Harvard Pilgrim Community Spirit 9/11 Grant Program. The $500 grant will be used to help defray the cost of purchasing fiction and nonfiction books for third grade classes.

The Harvard Pilgrim Community Spirit 9/11 Grant Program was created in commemoration to those lost on Sept. 11, 2001 through a special contribution to the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation. The Program provides Harvard Pilgrim employees with an opportunity to seek Harvard Pilgrim’s assistance in funding community activities that they regularly support through their own donations of time and/or money.
