Melissa Guimont is leading a drive to beautify Middleboro by picking up trash along the streets and hopes others will join her cause. Melissa has been picking up trash in Lakeville for three years with the Lakeville Litter Lifters and now wants to start a group in town called the Middleboro Mess Movers.
The trash pickup will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on the third Saturdays of the month from April through October. The scheduled dates are:
- April 22 (Earth Day)
- May 21
- June 18
- July 16
- August 20
- September 17
- October 15.
Melissa is looking for donations from area merchants for items such as trash bags, plastic gloves, garden gloves, grabbers and reflective vests. Donation boxes will be placed throughout the town including the Council on Aging and the Middleboro Library.
