The new year will bring a reduction in utility bills for Middleboro Gas & Electric customers, who will see their bills drop anywhere from $2 to $8 a month. Fuel prices dropped, and Gas & Electric Department Commissioners passed on those savings of approximately $900,000 to customers, utility spokesperson Sandra A. Richter. This decrease and others over the past year have combined to save customers about $4 million, Richter said.
In February 2011, Middleboro Gas & Electric commissioners cut natural gas rates for the second time this year, and customers will see an average savings of $11 a month.
