Northbrook Academy, a preparatory school for grades 6-8, is moving from its Raynham locale to Middleboro center. The school just signed a lease for space in the Grant Building at 40 North Main Street.

Northbrook Academy prides itself on nurturing students’ mind, body, and spirit through small class sizes and attentive teachers. In addition to challenging academic courses, the school also provides courses and extra curricular activities in the arts as well as various intramural and competitive sports. Community participation is also a very important part of life at Northbrook Academy. Community service is important to the school’s philosophy and is embedded in the school’s curriculum.

School days are longer than public school days. Students are required to arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. and first dismissal is not until 4 p.m. There is a dress code for students for both classroom studies as well as athletic wear for physical fitness classes and sports.

Northbrook Academy is also planning to expand the school to offer grades 9-12. One grade per year will be added so that current students can continue to attend Northbrook Academy through high school graduation. The school also boasts the ability to provide special attention to those with certain disorders such as dyslexia and ADHD. Yearly tuition for Northbrook Academy is approximately $10,000 per year. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
