The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, with operates the Sacred Heart Food Pantry, is in need of a reliable vehicle that can be used to make the trips to the Boston Food Bank in Boston that largely supply the local pantry.
Bill Pye, executive director, said a 1995 Ford Econoline van was donated to the food pantry several years ago and has served the organization well over the years, but is now too small for the pantry’s needs. The twice a week trips to the Greater Boston Food Bank in Boston require a larger truck in order to accommodate the amount of food that is needed to keep the pantry shelves stocked. The Greater Boston Food Bank is the pantry’s largest supplier (80 percent) of the pantry’s food.
