Election Day is almost here! Get ready to rock ‘n roll and vote for your favorite candidates on Saturday, April 2, 2011!! Read all about the people who are running and then voice your opinion by casting your ballot.

A four-way race is happening for the two seats on the Board of Selectmen currently held by Marsha L. Brunelle and Muriel C. Duphily. Brunelle, Duphily, Allin Frawley and Ben Wilson Burns Quelle have drawn papers for selectman.

Jay P. Austin, Richard C. Gillis and Brian P. Giovanoni are vying for two seats on the School Committee, previously held by Paul C. Hilton and Joseph A. Masi Jr. Biographies of the school committee candidates can be found on SouthCoastToday.com.

Other uncontested positions available include:

  • Seat on the Gas & Electric Commission
  • Seat on the Board of Assessors
  • Two Finance Committee positions
  • Seat on the Planning Board
  • Two spots on the Park Commission
  • Seat on the Housing Authority.

The election takes place April 2, 2011. However, absentee ballots for the April 2 annual town election in Middleboro are now available in the town clerks’ office. The deadline to vote by absentee ballot in the Middleboro town clerk’s office is Noon, on Friday, April 1, 2011. Call the Middleboro town clerk’s office at 508-946-2415 for more information.
