At the upcoming June 6, 2011 town meeting, Middleboro voters will consider whether to exempt National Guard troops who serve overseas from paying property tax. If approved, it would take effect on July 1, 2011 and last for two years. This exemption will provide up to a 100 percent property-tax exemption for National Guard troops serving overseas.
