By trade and passion I am a word person. I live, eat and breathe reading, writing and communicating with words. I am not – by any stretch of my imagination – an artistically-inclined visual person. Lately, though, I’ve been catching more and more information and articles about infographics and has started me down this weird path of trying to become more visually inclined.
For those of you who don’t know, an infographic is defined by Wikipedia as:
“…graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge. These graphics present complex information quickly and clearly, such as in signs, maps, journalism, technical writing, and education.”
An example of an infographic that has been circulating lately, comes from Brian Solis. There is also a variation on the infographic where people are creating versions of their resumes as such. Chris Spurlock’s infographic resume went viral when it was featured on the Huffington Post. A resume that goes viral? Maybe there’s something to this infographic craze…
So I decided to experiment with this new-fangled mode of communication. Take my favorite topic – me! – and turn it into an infographic. The results are below. It’s rough. Really rough. But I’d be curious to hear what you think…

I also live by words and am not “visual”. I dislike videos – they take too much time! I dislike pictures because words can usually be more precise.
I regret the decline of the written word
