The Nemasket Kayak Center, located next to the Nemasket River at 25 Wareham Street in Middleboro, Massachusetts provides canoe and kayak rentals, guided trips, and instructions.
The Nemasket river, one of the most beautiful in the New England area, flows from Assawompset Pond, which is the largest natural body of water in Massachusetts down to the confluence with the Taunton River. Assawompset Pond is the City of Taunton’s reservoir and thus the water is very clean and clear as it flows down the Nemasket. Fishing on the Nemasket is great and in the spring the Herring run is one of the largest in the state.
The owners of The Nemasket Kayak Center, Ray Brierly and Roy Edwards have over twenty years experience in kayaking and canoeing. Ray has both Red Cross and ACA certifications and Roy ACA certification. Check out their website – http://www.nemasketkayak.com/ – and then stop by their store and say hello. They are more than happy to help you plan your trip or set you up for some kayaking lessons.
