Middleboro’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold a free disposal day for bulky items on October 22, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Plympton Street landfill. Among the items accepted are sofas, chairs, desks, dryers, dishwashers, rugs, mattresses, stoves, batteries, propane tanks, grills, microwaves and water heaters.

The event is for residents only, and proof or residency is required. There will be a fee for TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, water coolers, tires and demolition wood.
