The Middleboro School Committee is preparing to search for a new superintendent to replace the outgoing Dr. Robert Sullivan, who retires in July.

During last Thursday night’s meeting, the committee put together a subcommittee to begin looking at the problem of finding the right candidate to lead Middleboro’s public schools. The first step will be to review the work from the last search committee to find the right starting point.

According to School Committee member Jeannie Martin, this year Middleboro will be facing stiff competition throughout the state for that candidate because there are approximately 36 other superintendents retiring or leaving their posts throughout the state. Other districts are at various stages of their searches. Get the rest of the story on SouthCoastToday.com.
